This pocket notebook was used primarily as a time book covering a period from December to February, probably 1870-1871. The first part of this book records workers' hours and pay. Starting from the back of the book is a series of stock room inventories. The front cover is marked "Time Book," the back cover is marked "Time Book Newark Telegraph Works 1871 Edison & Wm. Unger." About 50 pages of this unnumbered book have been used.
