This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the work of the Standard Construction Corp., Ltd. Most of the letters are to or from Edison and William Simpkin, chief engineer. Included are numerous drafts in Edison's hand. There is also correspondence by J. Hall, Jr., secretary, and Herschel Roberts, engineer. The documents deal primarily with the design and construction of the Dunderland works. A few items pertain to the installation of magnets. Some of the letters are accompanied by drawings.

Approximately 90 percent of the documents have been selected. The unselected items include a progress report on railway and harbor work for the Dunderland Iron Ore Co., Ltd.
