This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the business of the Edison Portland Cement Co. and the manufacture and composition of cement. Many of the items are letters exchanged by Walter S. Mallory, vice president of the Edison Portland Cement Co., and Frank L. Dyer, president of the National Phonograph Co. Included are letters and memoranda pertaining to the cement company's bid to supply cement for the construction of the Panama Canal. There are also items concerning an excursion to the cement plant at Stewartsville, New Jersey, to which Edison invited "important men connected with the building industry."
