Document File Series -- 1879: (D-79-38) Telephone -- Carbon Button Orders [not selected]
[D7938]

This folder contains correspondence, account sheets, orders, and other routine documents relating to the carbon buttons used in Edison's telephones. The buttons were made at the Menlo Park laboratory and were supplied to the Western Electric Manufacturing Co. and to S. Bergmann, the firms that were manufacturing the telephones. Some buttons were also sent to the Gold and Stock Telegraph Co., which leased Edison's telephone in the United States and Canada.
