Document File Series -- 1880: (D-80-44) Telephone -- Carbon Button/Chalk Cylinder Orders [not selected]
[D8044]

This folder contains correspondence, orders, and other routine documents relating to the carbon buttons and chalk cylinders used in Edison's telephones. The buttons and cylinders were made at the Menlo Park laboratory and were supplied to the Western Electric Manufacturing Co. and to S. Bergmann, the firms that were manufacturing the telephones. Some were also sent to the Gold and Stock Telegraph Co., which leased Edison's telephone in the United States and Canada.
