Document File Series -- 1881: (D-81-36) Menlo Park Laboratory -- General
[D8136]

This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to Edison's Menlo Park laboratory. Some material concerns the shipment of books, journals, and other items from Menlo Park to Edison's office at 65 Fifth Avenue, New York City. There is also correspondence from Francis Jehl concerning copper wire tests, including some tests performed for the Ansonia Brass & Copper Co.

Approximately 40 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: correspondence with suppliers; routine intraoffice communications.

One additional document—a facsimile of a letter from Edison to Jehl, April 17, 1881, from Jehl's Menlo Park Reminiscences (3 vols., 1937-1941), p. 666—was added to this folder in January 2009.
