This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the Edison electric light system in the United Kingdom. Many of the documents deal with the affairs of the Edison and Swan United Electric Light Co., Ltd., which was incorporated in October 1883. Related material can be found in the Records of the Edison Electric Light Co., Ltd. (Company Records Series).

Approximately 90 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: routine correspondence confirming the receipt of letters and cables; routine correspondence concerning accounts; copies of cable messages in Letterbook, LM-002 (Letterbook Series).
