This folder contains correspondence and other documents pertaining to the canvassing of prospective towns for the installation of central stations. The areas visited by the canvassers were primarily in the East and in the Midwest. Many of the documents are by Henry Guimaraes, who prepared maps and made determinations of central station districts. Documents relating to the canvassing of one specific station can be found in the folder for that station.

All of the documents have been selected except for duplicate copies of selected documents, and two letters of transmittal lacking enclosures.
