This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the organization of the Edison General Electric Co. Many of the letters are by Henry Villard, a prominent financier who became president of the company. Included also are numerous letters by William D. Marks regarding a dispute over his authority as chief of the company's engineering department.
Approximately 50 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: meeting announcements; letters of transmittal; duplicate copies of selected documents.
