This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to Edison's involvement in electric railways. Most of the documents pertain to the business and legal affairs of the Sprague Electric Railway and Motor Co. Included also is a lengthy memorandum by Edison about railway motors and generators. Much of the correspondence is by Sherburne B. Eaton, Edison's attorney.

Approximately 60 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: routine business correspondence and memoranda; letters of transmittal; duplicate copies of selected documents.
