This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to Edison's membership and activities in social clubs and professional societies. Included is a letter regarding a proposed electrical society in Philadelphia.

Approximately 10 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: routine correspondence regarding club meetings and activities; printed circulars. Much of the unselected material relates to the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences.
