This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the North American Phonograph Co., which went into receivership in August, 1894. Many of the documents pertain to Edison's efforts to purchase the assets of the company. Included are numerous letters to and from John R. Hardin, receiver of the company, and from attorney Richard N. Dyer. There are also some letters pertaining to Howard W. Hayes, a Newark attorney hired to assist Edison in this matter.
