This folder contains correspondence relating to local and national politics. The selected documents pertain primarily to the presidential election of 1912 and Edison's support for Progressive Party candidate Theodore Roosevelt. Included are the results of an informal presidential preference poll conducted among workers at the West Orange laboratory.

Approximately 30 percent of the documents have been selected. The unselected material consists of announcements, unsolicited invitations and appeals for funds from political parties, and other unsolicited items with no substantive reply from Edison.
