This folder contains unsolicited correspondence requesting Edison's advice, assistance, or opinion on matters related to aviation. The correspondents consist of aviators, inventors, enthusiasts, and journalists. Some of the items pertain to Edison's role on the Naval Consulting Board. None of the letters received a substantive reply. Many bear a notation indicating that a form letter was sent in response, stating that Edison did not consider the inventions of others.
