This unbound letterbook covers the period September 1887 and contains correspondence relating to the purchase and installation of boilers, steam engines, and other equipment for Edison's new laboratory in West Orange, New Jersey. Most of the letters are by Edison and are in the hand of Batchelor, acting as Edison's secretary. The book contains 53 numbered pages. Page 1 is missing; pages 5 and 11-53 are blank. All of the documents have been selected.
