This notebook covers the period May-June 1901. All entries are by Edison. The book contains notes and drawings relating to the development of Edison's alkaline storage battery. Included are preliminary sketches for a manufacturing plant, notes regarding the production of nickel suitable for use in the battery, and a list of experimental techniques for packing the nickel into the cell grids. The front cover is marked "May 01." The pages are unnumbered, and several pages have been removed from the book. Approximately 60 pages have been used.
