These twenty-one notebooks were used by John A. Hanley during 1919-1924 for notes on experiments with various batteries and battery components, many involving nickel-treated paper. Included is information on discharge rate and efficiency of experimental cells. Some of the experiments may have been related to work on the auto starter and Ford generator.
