This notebook covers the period June-October 1887. It was used primarily by Charles Batchelor. There are also scattered entries by Edison and an unidentified employee. The book contains notes regarding orders for machinery and other equipment to outfit the West Orange laboratory. There are also a few notes and drawings pertaining to the layout of the laboratory. The front cover is marked "499." The book contains 217 numbered pages. Several pages were removed before pagination.
