This ledger covers the period January 1888-June 1890. It contains cost accounts for the experiments performed at the laboratory. There are also accounts pertaining to Edison's royalties, his companies and business operations, laboratory suppliers, Ft. Myers, and Glenmont. The book contains 912 numbered pages and an index. The spine is stamped "Ledger No. 5. Laboratory T. A. Edison Orange, N.J." It is labeled "7" and "Thomas A. Edison Laboratory General Ledger No. 5 January 1888 to June 1890."
