This ledger covers the period January 1897-December 1901, with scattered entries from 1902 and 1903. It contains cost accounts for the various experiments performed at the laboratory. There are also accounts pertaining to Edison's royalties, his companies and business operations, laboratory suppliers, Ft. Myers, and Glenmont. The book contains 473 numbered pages and an index. The front cover is labeled "Led[ger] No.7 Laboratory General Ledger Jany 1st - Dec. 31st 1901" and "Lab[oratory] Le[dger]". The spine is stamped "Ledger." It is labeled "11" and "General Ledger Labty Jan. 1. 1897 to Dec. 31, 1901."
