This notebook covers the period June 1887-November 1888. It contains transcriptions by William K. L. Dickson of notes and drawings regarding ore milling experiments. The entries relate to gold and iron separation. Included are designs of experimental ore separators, notes on ore roasting as a method of magnetization, and entries on electrolytic separation. Rough records for many of these transcribed entries can be found in N-87-06-10. The book contains 249 numbered pages, most of which are blank. The last page used contains the following notation in faint pencil: "not continued this way because - not desired."
