This pocket notebook was begun by Edison on May 1, 1888, but most of the entries date from the period February-April 1889. The entry for May 1 is a drawing of a generator. On the same page is an alternative design, dated April 12, 1889. The remaining entries concern chemical experiments. The cover of the book is missing. The pages are unnumbered. Approximately 25 pages have been used.
