National Archives, Washington, D.C.: Records of the Patent and Trademark Office (Record Group 241) -- Libers of Patent Assignments -- Electrical Printing Instrument (1869)
[W100CAJ]

[The first paragraph of this note covers all of the Libers of Patent Assignments in Record Group 241.]

Patent assignments were generally forwarded to the U.S. Patent Office, where they were copied into the Libers of Patent Assignments. A summary was entered into the Digest of Patent Assignments, and the original document was then returned to the assignee. These Edison-related assignments, which cover the years 1868-1876, pertain primarily to inventions in telegraphy. Also included is an assignment relating to Edison's electric pen.

This patent was assigned by Samuel S. Laws to the Gold & Stock Telegraph Co. on October 5, 1869.
