These documents, which cover the period April-October 1878, consist of correspondence to and from Thomas A. Watson, chief electrician and superintendent of the Bell Telephone Co. The letters relate primarily to experiments Watson conducted on Edison's carbon telephone to determine its effectiveness. The other correspondents are Bell officials Gardiner G. Hubbard and Theodore N. Vail.
