NOTE: The seven letters formerly in this folder have been moved to the "Miller Family Papers -- Miller, Grace and Hitchcock, Halbert K." folder
These letters are by Halbert Kellogg (Hal) Hitchcock (1865-1930), consulting engineer to the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co., who married Grace Miller in 1916. They are addressed to Mina Miller Edison and other members of the Edison family. The letters, some of which are undated, cover the years 1929-1930. Included are references to Thomas Edison's deafness, a visit with the Edison family in Fort Myers, Florida, and an invitation to the Edisons to accompany Hal and Grace on a steam cruise to Panama. Also included is a typewritten copy of Hitchcock's obituary.
There are approximately 15 letters and other documents by or about Halbert K. Hitchcock in Book #5 on the Charles Edison Fund microfilm as well as additional items in Book #34. Click here for a list of all the correspondence books on the CEF microfilm. Courtesy of the Charles Edison Fund.
