This letter from Edison to Booth Tarkington, novelist, playwright, and chairman of the Motion Picture Division of the Progressive National Committee, is from June 1913. Declining an invitation to become a member of the Committee, Edison affirms his belief "in the power of the film drama to teach lessons in morality."
