These documents consist of an undated letter from Lewis Miller (1829-1899) to his wife Mary Valinda Miller, written in 1889, along with letters from 1898 to his daughter Mina Miller Edison. The 1889 letter mentions the reaction of the Edison family to the departure of Mina's step-daughter Marion for Europe. The letters from 1898 contain several references to Miller's financial difficulties and the assistance he received from Edison, one bears marginalia by Edison. Another letter pertains to a visit with Mina's brother Theodore before his departure to Cuba, where he served with the Rough Riders during the Spanish-American War.
