Essex County Hall of Records, Newark, N.J. -- Office of the County Clerk: Records of the Circuit Court
[X148]

These court records, which cover the years 1872-1875, pertain to judgments against Edison and his Newark partner Joseph T. Murray in two suits for unpaid debts. One suit was brought by machine-maker Edward N. Wrigley; the other, by the Eagleton Manufacturing Co. For each case, there are two records of judgment. The first, which includes the assessment of damages, is from the Circuit Court Minutes. The second, which includes the plaintiff's plea, is from the Circuit Court Judgments.
