These documents cover the years 1938-1939, 1946-1947, 1956, and 1958-1959. The letters from the 1930s are from the law firm of Larkin, Rathbone & Perry and from the Central Hanover Bank & Trust Co. They relate to Madeleine Edison Sloane's share in the trust that her father established for her half-brother, William, who died on August 10, 1937. The items from the 1940s consist of correspondence between Madeleine and attorney Albert R. Jube concerning legal issues arising from the will of William's widow, Blanche Travers Edison, who died on January 3, 1946. The documents from the 1950s include a copy of the last will and testament of Blanche's older sister, Frances Travers Constance (1877-1958), along with two letters from the Old National Bank of Martinsburg, West Virginia to Madeleine, who was executor of Frances's estate.
