Clipping Source Count
Beginning in the mid-1870s, Edison and his staff collected clippings in scrapbooks and files. (You can read more about the clippings and how to search them in the instructions.) This list shows the number of clippings from all indexed newspapers and periodicals. It includes all sources that supplied 20 or more clippingsexcept for 84 clippings ambiguously labeled "News" or "Times"and those indexed in other documents. Because these titles are in the name file, they can be searched, either by clicking on the names below or from the Name Search page.
Of 13,253 indexed clippings from 1,452 known sources, 7,655 items come from these 103 periodicals.
