Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village Research Center, Dearborn, Mich. :: Edison Papers and Related Items -- Series V: Edison Pioneers -- Clarke, Charles L. -- Notebook: Electrical Experiments and Tests 3
This notebook was used during the period December 1882-July 1883 to record test results at the Edison Machine Works in New York City. There are a few entries by John T. Perry and one by Frank J. Sprague, but most of the entries are by unidentified experimenters. Included are tests of dynamos and safety catches, along with tests of the conductivity of wire and the resistance of lamps. At the beginning of the book is a notation by Clarke from 1928 indicating that it is a "page by page copy from a like note-book of the testing room at the Edison Machine Works, Goerck St., New York City." The label on the front cover is inscribed "Electrical Experiments and Tests." The book is numbered through page 188, although some of the pages are missing and some do not have numbers inscribed on them. There are 19 unnumbered pages at the end of the book.
