AUGUST 29, 2007 THE EDISON PAPERS HOSTS CEREMONY TO MARK 125 YEARS OF NYC LIGHTING AND LAUNCH NEWEST BOOK, ELECTRIFYING NEW YORK AND ABROAD The Edison Papers at Rutgers University, a non-profit organization dedicated to the work and legacy of New Jersey inventor Thomas A. Edison, today announced it will mark the 125th anniversary of the electric lighting of New York City with the launch of Electrifying New York and Abroad, the 6th in a series of books illuminating Edison's life and career. Celebrated historian and journalist Sir Harold Evans will be the featured speaker at the September 18th ceremony, to be hosted by the law firm of Schlam Stone and Dolan LLP.

AUGUST 9, 2007 BLAINE MCCORMICK OF THE EDISON PAPERS TO APPEAR ON NPR’S “TALK OF A NATION”
Dr. Blaine McCormick, will appear on the Monday, August 13 broadcast of NPR’s “Talk of a Nation.” A visiting editor at the Thomas Edison Papers, McCormick is Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at Baylor University’s HANKAMER School of Business. McCormick will discuss the poetry in Edison’s writings and laboratory notes.

Scholars at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, will use a $100,000 grant from the GE Foundation to launch "Edison Across the Curriculum", a high-impact program that integrates the legacy of Thomas A. IEEE Grant for Edison Across the Curriculum
The Thomas A. Edison Papers at Rutgers University received a US$10,000 grant for Edison Across the Curriculum. Working in collaboration with educators across many subject areas, this project will integrate visual and textual documents from the Thomas A. Edison Papers to create a preK-12 cross-content curriculum that offers new resources for interdisciplinary teaching and learning in the 21st Century.
